Job Description


Pay: $18-21/hour
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7am – 7pm (various 8-hour shifts based on business needs; must be available for 10:30am-7pm shift)
Start Date: November 17, 2024 (or October 27 if cleared early)

We are seeking a Licensed and Certified Pharmacy Technician for our client, a leading healthcare organization located in North Chicago, IL. This is an onsite position with the potential to be a hybrid employee after being hired on directly. 

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for:
  • Assist pharmacists with pharmacy practice in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations by accurately interpreting and entering prescription orders into the core pharmacy system
  • Obtain accurate prescription information from healthcare providers, manage patient adherence processes, and schedule medication deliveries
  • Use internal and web tools to communicate with health insurance payors and providers to investigate benefits and verify prescription coverage
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls, triage patient inquiries to appropriate personnel, and identify process improvements to increase operational efficiency

The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and Licensed and Certified Pharmacy Technician in the State of Illinois with current CE requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in a healthcare setting with retail pharmacy, call center, and customer service experience preferred
  • Strong data entry skills, medical terminology knowledge, and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail, professional communication skills, and flexibility to work between 7am-7pm with overtime availability
